Using provotypes for AI product design
Conventional prototyping methods, which typically rely on a clear understanding of system capabilities and user needs, are not fit for purpose when the product discovery phase is highly ambiguous. This is the current reality for many designers working on new AI products and features.
When I found myself in this position earlier this year, I turned to the speculative design method of provotyping. Unlike traditional prototypes that aim to test or refine specific solutions, provotypes serve as catalysts for exploration and debate.
